The finals of the annual NSPS Student Competition will take place on Monday April 13. The 2014/15 competition will for the first time include not only student teams from four-year degree programs, but also from two-year degree programs. The two groups will compete independently, with each team making an oral presentation of its project to a panel of judges who will combine scores from the presentations with scores based on submittals from each program to select the winning teams. Conference attendees are welcome to attend the student presentations. Students may wish to participate in visits to Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
NSPS will hold its annual General Membership meeting on Thursday April 16 during which proposed Bylaws amendments resulting from the joint state/national membership program will be voted upon. 2015 NSPS Officers will be sworn in during the meeting. NSPS members are encouraged to attend. Following the General Membership meeting, selected NSPS Committees and federal agency surveyor groups will meet, respectively.
NSPS attendees are encouraged to participate in the NOAA (NGS) Geospatial Summit on Monday afternoon, and Tuesday morning, as well as the Federal Geodetic Control Subcommittee meeting, and the National Height Modernization Program Partner meeting. DHS Geospatial Management Office will hold a Licensed Data Forum. NSPS members will join MAPPS members for a day on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, April 15.
